The Neo-York City
During my learning of 3D animation software in university, I also tried to make some content independently to test my own ability. Neo-York is one such project. This work shows my current ability of MAYA modeling and scene designing for a certain area (such as scenes in games or animation).
Neo-York is made entirely in MAYA. The main content of the project is to show a corner of a future city with a minimalist and slightly exaggerated style; In this work, this partial area is conceived as the heart of a bustling future city, one of the lakeshores of an area that revolves around the lake. In this area, you can not only see commercial buildings with many advertising screens and relatively low residential buildings, but also landmark buildings, surrounded by a large creative park and art blocks. Of course, there is a complete transportation system and facilities.
The core of Neo-York is that it tries to combine blocks with different functions in similar styles in a limited space in a diversified way, presenting an idealized corner of the city in a near future. One main idea of this work is its layout and architectural arrangement. In the conception, it can be applied to the box-court map scene in the game, etc., showing diverse attraction ability in one single limited space.
The CATTS Film
This project was a group work during my study in university, a cooperation between CATTS and our course.
The theme of this film was provided by CATTS, which aims at teaching people how to defend themselves from skin cancer by checking different kinds of moles. The film was made in MAYA.
As the art director of the team, I was responsible for a series of design works, including scene design and new costume design for the mascot of CATTS based on the original characters.
In addition, I also draw pictures of moles appearing in the film in a simplified way based on practical references.
In addition to design and drawing, I was also involved in the production using MAYA.
These include modeling the main character, the Cat, and the model of one of the five moles shown here with an animation of its actions.
The animation from 00:35 to 00:45 was also produced by me.
